In a release sent out last night, Bethesda’s Fraser Gallery said it will close at the end of March. This gallery is the last of a pair; owner Catroina Fraser opened a Georgetown location in 1995 and closed it in 2005, following the opening of the Bethesda location in 2002. The gallery was a destination for painting and photography, hosting, among many excellent exhibits, the winners of the annual Trawick Prize and Bethesda Painting Awards, which award cash prizes to local artists, and the International Photography Competition, which Ms. Fraser organized and curated herself for ten years. See the 10th Annual International Photography Competition through this weekend, after which the gallery will open their last exhibit by D.C. based photographer, Lee Goodwin.
