THEATER: Doctor Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog was Joss Whedon’s musical Internet sensation during the writer’s strike. It featured a super hero/human love triangle between the trying-to-be-evil Dr. Horrible (Neil Patrick Harris), full-of-himself Captain Hammer (Nathan Fillion), and the romantic and naive heroine Penny (Felicia Day). Landless Theater Company has reworked the story for the stage and is performing it at the DC Arts Center (2438 18th Street NW) Thursdays through Sundays starting tonight and continuing through March 27th. 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $25.

FOOD & DRINK: The National Aquarium (1401 Constitution Avenue NW) doesn’t mind if you eat fish, they just want you to do it sustainably. READING: Laura Esquivel, author of Like Water For Chocolate, gives a talk at Busboys and Poets in Shirlington (4251 South Campbell Avenue, Arlington). 7 p.m. Tickets are $25, and include admittance to the talk as well as tapas.

MUSIC: Solas Nua’s Irish Writers Festival kicks off with singer/songwriter Melanie O’Reilly, accompanied by Fintan O’Neill on piano and Seán O’Nualláin on guitar, at the Gibson Guitar Room (709 G Street NW). The festival continues for the next four days. 8 p.m.

FITNESS: Learn how to eat like an athlete at a nutrition class led by dietitian, triathlete and ultra-marathoner Rebecca Scritchfield at Pacers in Logan Circle (1427 P Street NW). If all the food talk makes you hungry, no worries, there will be snacks. 7 p.m. $7 in advance or $10 at the door.

ACROBATS: The Peking Acrobats bring their 25th Anniversary Tour to the Strathmore (5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda). They will be accompanied by a live performance by the The Women’s Peace Orchestra of China. 8 p.m. $25-$48.
