Spring has been awful tease so far year. With each glorious respite from the cold, right behind it Mother Nature rears her withholding neuroses — today is no exception. After seeing yesterday’s temperature rise into the low 60s, the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the District, northern Virginia and portions of Maryland until 7 p.m. tonight. Those living in the city should expect to see 1″-1.5″ inches of rain collecting on our stoops, a boon for the gardeners out there who took advantage of yesterday to start their urban gardens. The region could use a little bit of precipitation since currently we are experiencing dry to drought-like conditions. But if yesterday was an indicator, patio weather is upon us, so get those brown flip-flips and cut-off jeans ready.
