TUESDAY

You might recognize this debonair gentleman to your right as Shane MacGowan, legendary imbiber and lead singer of Irish punk(ish) band The Pogues. MacGown and Co. are at 9:30 to make their annual sojourn in honor of ol’ St. Patrick. Shane may no longer have the ability to properly stand, never mind sing, but the spirit of the songs remains intact. Opening will be DCist favorites Titus Andronicus, making one of their many upcoming appearances in the near future. Between the raucous old timers and feisty youth, I’d come expecting a lot of sweat and spilled beer. 7:00 p.m., sold out.

For something equally as lively but not quite as hard on the wallet, one would do well by tonight’s line-up at the Black Cat’s backstage where Des Ark, Pygmy Lush and Hey Girl show the fellas that getting rowdy is not just boys fun. 8:30 p.m., $10.
