Do you want to read 258 pages about former mayor Adrian Fenty’s involvement in controversial Parks and Recreation contracts, but lack the time? Thanks to those who have started to read the report about the parks and rec scandal — commissioned by the D.C. Council and produced by attorney Robert Trout of Trout Cacheris law firm — we know that it exonerates Fenty of any wrongdoing regarding contracts which were awarded to his fraternity brothers Omar Karim and Sinclair Skinner.
The report does indicate that further investigation of Karim and Skinner by the U.S. Attorney’s Office is appropriate. It also says that the whole ordeal was a “considerable waste to the taxpayers.” Skinner will reportedly answer questions about the report in front of the Wilson Building this afternoon. The Council was kind enough to meet this morning and approve the release of the report to the public — so dig in, folks! Or, you can wait until this Friday, when a special committee, along with Trout himself, is expected to gather to discuss the findings.
