Good morning, Washington. It was a very early morning for D.C. firefighters, who responded to the Corcoran Gallery of Art around 4 a.m. this morning after an overheated kiln sparked a fire. No artwork was damaged inside the museum due to the blaze, which took about ten minutes to extinguish. However, the one-story ceramics studio — located in the Gallery’s courtyard — was reportedly consumed by the flames, causing several thousand dollars worth of damage.

More On Lululemon Brutality: Details began to emerge yesterday regarding the gruesome slaying of Jayna Murray, as alleged killer Brittany Norwood made her first appearance in court on first-degree murder charges — and believe it or not, more shocking details are still rolling in. According to authorities, Norwood allegedly sat in Murray’s car for an hour and a half after the struggle, contemplating her cover up while covered in Murray’s blood. Norwood also allegedly cut a hole in Murray’s pants to make it look like she had been sexually assaulted. The chief prosecutor in the case, John McCarthy, said that Norwood’s “cunning and her ability to lie is almost unparalleled.” Meanwhile, a former employee of the Lululemon store told ABC7 that Norwood should have been fired months before the murder.

Virginia Woman Found Dead In Japan: The body of 24-year-old Taylor Anderson, a Midlothian native, has been found in Japan — Anderson is the first known American casualty of by the earthquake and tsunami. Anderson, who had spent the last two and a half years teaching English in Ishinomaki, was last seen riding her bicycle away from an elementary school when she went missing as the tsunami hit the area.
