As we noted on Tuesday, regardless of whether the government shuts down, the District will continue its preparations for its April 26 city-wide special election. As part of those preparations, the D.C. Board of Elections and Ethics announced today that it will be extend hours for in-person absentee voting until 8 p.m. on Mondays through Saturday, beginning on Monday, April 11. BOEE will also open its One Judiciary Square headquarters on Sunday, April 17 between 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for those who want to vote early. There had been some confusion about whether Jewish voters would be able to cast a ballot on Election Day, as it coincides with the final day of Passover. Of course, if you can’t make it over to BOEE HQ, you can always fill out an absentee ballot request and send it in via mail by April 19.
