Cleveland’s indie-rock wunderkind Dylan Baldi brings his band, Cloud Nothings, to DC9 tonight, sharing buoyant lo-fi pop songs from their self-titled debut LP, issued earlier this year by D.C.’s Carpark Records. Eternal Summers and Invisible Hand offer supporting sets. $12. 8:30 p.m.

Though she hasn’t released a record since 2008’s @#%&*! Smilers, former ‘Til Tuesday frontwoman Aimee Mann has found plenty of ways to stay busy, whether it’s guest-starring on offbeat sketch-comedy shows, engaging in Twitter flame wars with rappers-turned-actors, or working on adapting her 2005 concept album, The Forgotten Arm, into a musical. On Tuesday, the talented singer-songwriter kicks off a two-night stand at The Birchmere, with Ivan & Alyosha opening. $49.50. 7:30 p.m.

WEDNESDAY
With their hyperactive mélange of tweecore hooks, schoolyard sing-alongs, hip-hop beats, eclectic samples and noise-pop guitars, The Go! Team do everything they can to live up to that exclamation point, and their recently-released Rolling Blackouts LP is no exception. The album’s first single, “Buy Nothing Day” (featuring Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast) is one of the most irrepressible pop gems of the year. On Wednesday night, the Brighton, England sextet bring their exuberant sounds to the 9:30 Club, with Massachusetts-based garage-pop trio Dom opening. $15. 7 p.m.

Along with Real Estate, Beach Fossils stand out amongst the wave of bands to emerge from Brooklyn in the past few years offering a distinctive style of summery, breezily laid-back lo-fi indie rock. Gifted with one of the most enchantingly evocative voices in independent music, Sharon Van Etten honed her live chops playing intimate solo shows in support of her spare, introspective 2009 debut, Because I Was in Love. On her current tour, which stops at the Red Palace on Sunday night, the Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter brings along a full band to help her flesh out the more robust and textured sounds of her 2010 follow-up, Epic. Arrive early to catch the charming indie-folk stylings of Aly Spaltro, a.k.a. Lady Lamb the Beekeeper.
