SPACE: Fifty years ago today, on April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin manned the first spaceflight, a 108-minute orbit of the earth. Celebrate his feat tonight at Science Club (1136 19th Street NW), where there’ll be a screening of “First Orbit,” the footage of Yuri’s flight. There will also be trivia with prizes from Think Geek, a Lego-building contest and space-themed cocktails. 8 p.m.-2 a.m. Free.

STORYTELLING: SpeakeasyDC’s storytelling evening at Town Danceboutique (2009 8th Street NW) presents tales of Sticky Situations, specifically “stories about getting in and out of trouble.” Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the stories start at 8 p.m. $10 (add an extra $10 to partake in the all-you-can-eat buffet from Nellie’s Sports Bar).

FOOD & DRINK: Sensorium, a twelve-course tasting menu combined with performance art, opens tonight in a pop-up Geodesic Dome at Yards Park (4th Street SE and Tingey Street SE). This unique eating experience will be limited to 30 people at a time and will offer seatings through May 1st. 6 p.m. Tickets: $150.

>> Lyon Hall’s (3100 N. Washington Boulevard, Arlington) Spring Beer Dinner will pair seasonal beers with a four-course meal. The menu includes: goat cheese and asparagus almond salad paired with Castelain Blonde Bier de Garde, crab and citrus salad paired with Brasserie DuPont’s Saison Vieille Provision, pork loin paired with Hofbrau’s Maibock, and a finale of pot de crème of burnt sugars and malt ice cream paired with Granitbock. MOVIE: Washington Psychotronic Film Society’s Tuesday screenings at the Passenger (1021 7th Street NW) are back with — woo! woo! all aboard! — Beyond Door III, a.k.a Amok Train. 8 p.m. Free, but a $2 donation is suggested.
