D.C. Fire and EMS responded to a house fire on the 800 block of 6th Street NE around 11:30 this morning. Unfortunately, there have been several injuries reported as a result of the fire.

The blaze did create a large plume of smoke over the H Street corridor. Firefighters were able to contain the bulk of the blaze, which started on the first floor of the home before it spread to the second floor and attic, shortly after arriving on the scene.
