Photo by owash.Fairfax County isn’t kidding around when it comes to cracking down on drug use at its concert venues, which, more often than not, attract the kind of crowd who really like to do drugs before, while and after watching a concert. So says the Post’s Tom Jackman, who reports that a recent bust at a Patriot Center concert featuring former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir and Phil Lesh resulted in 54 narcotics charges against 30 people. Big drug busts at concerts at Wolf Trap are nothing new, of course, and the undercover presence will be back again in full force at that venue this summer. “If you bring contraband to an event, remember you never know who might be sitting next to you,” Fairfax Officer Don Gotthardt told Jackman. “It could be a Fairfax County police officer.”
Sadly, Gotthardt wasn’t able to provide any information about how someone is actually supposed to sit through a Goo Goo Dolls concert without being under the influence of some kind of drug, so I guess you’re on your own there.
