COMEDY: David Coulier, that’s right, Joey from Full House, performs his “Special Clean Comedy Show” (seriously) at the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse (2903 Columbia Pike Arlington, VA) tonight. 7:30 p.m. $23.

FESTIVAL: Peruse the National Cathedral’s (Wisconsin and Massachusetts Avenues NW) 71st Flower Mart, offering 90 vendors (food, gifts, horticulture) along with live dance and musical performances (including Elisabeth von Trapp, yep of the von Trapps in Sound of Music, on Saturday from noon to 1 p.m.), from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. tonight and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow. MOVIE: Next up in Rosslyn’s “SNL in the Movies” outdoor film festival (Gateway Park at the base of Key Bridge,1300 Lee Highway, Arlington VA) is Coneheads. Dusk (around 8 p.m.). Free.

THEATER: Arena Stage (1101 Sixth Street SW) takes John Grisham’s A Time To Kill off the page and into the theater this evening through June 19th. 8 p.m. $70.

MUSIC: Office of Future Plans, BELLS, and More Humans perform as a part of the Benefit for Fight SMA! at St. Stephen’s Church (1525 Newton Street NW) tonight. 7 p.m. $5.

ART: The opening reception for the “We Are Monsters” exhibit, in which 20 artists “explore and celebrate everything MONSTERS,” at the Pleasant Plains Workshop (2608 Georgia Avenue NW) happens tonight. 7-9 p.m. Free.

SATURDAY

FOOD & DRINK: I scream, you scream, we all scream for FREE ice cream. The first 500 customers at Gifford’s Ice Cream in Chevy Chase (21 Wisconsin Circle Chevy Chase, Maryland) this Saturday will be greeted with a free vanilla ice cream cone. 12 p.m.

The market will continue every Saturday through December 17th. 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

ART: If you love the Peeps dioramas (or just want to steal ideas for your entry next year) check them out up close and personal at Artisphere (1101 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington VA) beginning this Saturday at a Peeps celebration (gift bags for everyone!) and running through May 31st. 12-4 p.m. Free.

KENTUCKY DERBY: Reuse your Royal Wedding hats and pour yourself a Mint Julep, it’s Kentucky Derby time. Both of Bourbon’s locations, Glover Park (2348 Wisconsin Ave NW) and Adams Morgan (2321 18th St. NW) will be pouring Derby drinks, offering complimentary Kentucky cuisine, and passing out free Bourbon t-shirts, at their Run for the Roses events Saturday. 4 to 7 p.m.

>> Meanwhile, the Kentucky Derby 137 LIVE at Eatonville (2121 14th Street NW) all-day event, will feature the race on the big screen and a best hat competition.

>> Proceeds from the Perry Center Kentucky Derby Party at Iron Horse Tap Room (507 7th Street NW
), offering drink specials, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and free bar games, this Saturday will go to support youth, economic and social services of the Perry Center. 4-7 p.m. $25 for one ticket, or $35 for 2 tickets.

>> The Bonnets and Bowties Party at the Willard Hotel’s Round Robin Bar (1401 Pennsylvania Avenue NW) will include a Southern-style buffet, mint juleps, a commemorative cup, and a contest for the best hat and bowtie. 4-7 p.m. $75.

>> Derby Day at Acadiana (901 New York Avenue NW) will include bourbon tasting, a $5 food and drink menu including mint juleps, rabbit half-smokes, burgoo stew, and Kentucky hot browns, and prizes for the best hats and bowties. 4 p.m.

>> Or, see some horses race in person (as well as a terrier race, hat contest, and a broadcast of the Kentucky Derby) at the Virginia Gold Cup at Great Meadow (5089 Old Tavern Road, The Plains, VA). 10 a.m.-7 p.m. $85.

STARS: Take a trip out to the country and join the Northern Virginia Astronomy Club and their telescopes observing the sun (through safe filters) at Astronomy Day at Sky Meadows State Park (11012 Edmonds Lane Delaplane, VA) this Saturday. 3-7 p.m. $4 to park, but otherwise free.

OPENING: Saturday marks the Grand Opening of the Cave at 826DC’s Museum of Unnatural History (3233 14th Street NW). They promise dave tours, cave products, cave activities, live music, and suprises. 12 p.m. Free.

ART: Create a work of art, crafting newspaper and fabric into beads and jewelry to give to your mom for Mother’s Day, this Saturday at the Textile Museum (2320 S Street NW). 2-4 p.m. Free.

TOUR: For “The best of European culture without the jet lag” check out the European Union Open House day Saturday, for food, traditional dress and dancing, activities, and peek inside these buildings. THEATER: See the ageless Bernadette Peters perform with sarcastic pixie Elaine Paige in James Goldman and Stephen Sondheim’s Follies, which starts its run this Saturday, at the Kennedy Center (2700 F Street NW). 7:30 p.m. $45-$150.

MUSIC: Buy stuff while you rock out with Deleted Scenes, America Hearts, and Foul Swoops, at the Punk Rock Flea Market at St. Stephen and the Incarnation Episcopal Church (1525 Newton Street NW) Saturday. 12:30 p.m. $3.
