>> A group house in Georgetown was brazenly robbed early Saturday morning. Robbers, one with a gun, tied up and beat two people in the house at about 3:15 a.m. The house, in which Georgetown students and non-students live, is on the 3500 block of S Street NW. The robbers were looking for a non-student who wasn’t in the home at the time. The robbers stole a laptop and a few other items. Police are looking for three black men, between 18 and 24 years old in connection with the robbery.

>> In good news, the prices of electricity are dropping – meaning Pepco and BGE will be dropping their rates in June. Pepco’s Maryland customers will pay about 15 percent less, while D.C. customers will pay about 10 percent less. BGE’s electricity costs will o down about 25 percent. Sorry, Virginia residents – your Dominion bills are expected to go up.

>> Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has denied Federal disaster assistance for Virginia following last week’s tornadoes. The Commonwealth sought FEMA assistance for the Halifax, Pulaski, and Washington counties. In April, Virginia had more than two dozen tornadoes that killed 10 people, destroyed 212 homes, and damaged more than a thousand other homes. Virginia is looking into appealing the decision.
