To celebrate, several of Rustico’s original bartenders, including ChurchKey beer director Greg Engert and manager-bartender Nahem Simon, will come back and do some pouring. All 30 of the restaurant’s drafts will be $5 from 5 p.m. until close.
MOVIE: The Washington Psychotronic Film Society screens 1960’s The Subterraneans — the film version of Jack Kerouac’s novel of the same name about Beatniks taking over the world starring jazz legend Gerry Mulligan — at The Passenger (1021 7th Street NW). Free, but a $2 donation is suggested. 8 p.m.
MUSIC: Phosphorescent sounds like a ray of sunlight entering a room at sunrise: bright and ethereal. Their sound has become more fleshed out as creator Matthew Houck started writing more songs with the full band in mind, and they’ll be bringing that sense of wonderment through D.C. on Tuesday. HIP-HOP: Atlanta-based recording artist Anthony David will bring his talents to Blues Alley (1069 Wisconsin Avenue NW) for two performances, of which the 8 p.m. show is already sold out. $25 + $12.50 minimum/surcharge. 10 p.m.
JAZZ: Drummer Maris Briezkalns‘s quintet fuses modern jazz with their native Latvian music. The band will be at Twins Jazz (1344 U Street NW) for 8 and 10 p.m. sets tonight. $15 + $10 minimum/surcharge.
