D.C.-based chef José Andrés has been on a roll over the past year. He’s been interviewed on 60 Minutes, and has come in to his own as an advocate for eradicating world hunger, including participating as a speaker at The Economist‘s World in 2011 event. Andres was also the first chef to receive Spain’s Order of Arts and Letters medallion, and he recently won the Duke Zeibert Capital Achievement Award. So it’s no surprise that all of this served as the preamble to his receipt last night of the award for Outstanding Chef of the Year from the James Beard Foundation.
Congratulations to Chef Andrés!
