GOG’s Fritz Hahn tweeted this afternoon that new 18th Street watering hole Jack Rose “passed all inspections, getting liquor license today. Staff training starts ASAP, opening by 6/1 is ‘definite.'” We got in touch with owner Bill Thomas, who confirmed that the Adams Morgan bar, located at 2007 18th Street NW, would definitely be open by June 1 — with the little teaser of “or sooner.”

Thomas hopes to be able to host a few soft opening events prior to opening to the general public. In the meantime, you can check out pictures of the space in our early look, and dream about the day you can repose with a single malt in front of the scotch room’s fireplace. Until the bar opens, you can always visit bar manager Rachel Sergi at Bourbon Adams Morgan this weekend — it’s her last two nights behind the stick before she moves down the street to Jack Rose.
