FRIDAY

THEATER: Solas Nua and The Performance Corporation offer a preview showing of their deliciously odd Swampoodle production, a collection of “high-wire feats, roller derby smack-downs and scenes of a spectacular nature,” at the abandoned Uline Arena (M Street NE and Delaware Avenue NE) tonight. But first, check out our photo sneak peek. Since tonight’s performance is a preview, tickets will be priced at $15 instead of the regular $25. 8:30 p.m.

MUSIC: The 9:30 Club (815 V Street NW) has a great lineup tonight, with White Lies, Asobi Seksu and Sun Airway. 8 p.m. $20.

MOVIE: The title alone, Hobo with a Shotgun, makes this new grindhouse-style movie a must-see. Read about how it was made after winning a SXSW contest put on by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez in Ian Buckwalter’s last Popcorn & Candy, then watch it for yourself tonight at West End Cinema (2301 M Street NW). FOOD & DRINK: Toast of the Town, sponsored by Wine Enthusiast, brings a huge selection of wines and 30 D.C. restaurants to the National Building Museum (401 F Street NW) for a night of food and drink. 7-10 p.m. Tickets: $109-$169.

FASHION: Bethesda Row (4950 Elm Street, Bethesda) is hosting an outdoor fashion show with Kelly Cutrone. Local restaurant Assaggi and store Pink Palm will be hosting pre-runway parties with drinks and free hors d’oeuvres from 5-7 p.m., and Lebanese Taverna will be throwing the after-party, complete with a book signing with Cutrone from 8:30-10 p.m. The runway show starts at 7:30 p.m. Free.

SATURDAY

CRAFTS: The Spring Thing Craft Show converges at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church (1514 15th Street NW) Saturday, bringing in 40 independent artists, the Fojol Brothers food truck, live music performed by Dave Tieff and Snakehead Run and free bananas from Whole Foods. 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

RAPTURE: Put together a complete set of clothes for the Rapture (Prank) On The Mall outside the Archives/Navy Memorial metro station. The sets of clothes will be scattered around the mall, as if people were Raptured away, then later donated to Goodwill. 2-5 p.m.

MUSIC: Take a trip back to the ’90s with Weezer, Seether Papa Roach and more at the DC101 Chili Cook-Off at RFK Stadium (2400 East Capitol Street NE). 11 a.m. Tickets: $35 in advance, $55 day-of.

FITNESS: Yoga enthusiasts unite for a Sun Salutation Flash Mob at John Marshall Park (Pennsylvania Avenue and 4th Street NW) on Saturday. 10-11 a.m. Free.

>> Clyde’s of Columbia (10221 Wincopin Circle, Columbia) is throwing an outdoor Craft Beer Tasting & Festival this Saturday featuring brews from Heavy Seas, Flying Dog, Allagash, 21st Ammendment, Oskar Blues, Sierra Nevada, Weyerbacher, Unibroue, Flying Fish, DuClaw and Duval. MOVIE: The Fridge (Rear Alley, 516 8th Street SE) screens My Heart is an Idiot, a documentary directed by Found Magazine creator Davy Rothbart and David Meiklejohn, both of whom will be onhand after the showing for a question and answer session. 8-10 p.m. Tickets: $8.

BIKES: Levar Burton taught us that you can go anywhere, if you take a look, in a book. But you can also really go anywhere if you have a bike. Combine bikes and books this Saturday at the Tour de DCPL, a bike ride making stops at numerous D.C. public libraries, beginning at Tenley-Friendship Library (4450 Wisconsin Avenue NW). 9:30 a.m. Free.

SUNDAY

FOOD & DRINK:: Combine good food, good music, and good works at Soundbites, a food and music fest at the 9:30 Club (815 V Street NW) that supports D.C. Central Kitchen. The event will feature food from 25 local restaurants, five food trucks and bands Trouble Funk, The Pietasters, Ra Ra Rasputin and DJ lil’e. >> At last year’s Taste of Arlington (Wilson Boulevard in front of Ballston Common Mall, Arlington), we enjoyed a number of the dishes offered by local restaurants, but lamented the beer selection. This year, their beer options are a perk, with brews from Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada, Newcastle, Ommegang, Saranac, Franziskaner, Breckenridge, Gordon Biersch, Shiner and Magic Hat lined up to wash down the fare from the 40 participating restaurants (including Willow, Rustico, Jaleo, Toby’s Homemade Ice Cream, SweetGreen, and more). There will also be live music, dance performances, and an appearance by Chef Spike Mendelsohn. 12-5 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance, or $25 day-of for 8 tickets (1 ticket for each food tasting, 2 tickets for alcohol).

>> For the Capitol Crawfest at The Yards Park (3rd and N Streets SE) on Sunday, the Louisiana State Society’s is trucking in 4,200 pounds of boiled crawfish, 150 pounds of jambalaya, and copious amounts of sausage, corn, potatoes, Abita beer and Louisiana music. 12-4 p.m. Tickets must be purchased before attending the event. $55.

BIKE: Meet up at Third Street and Madison Drive NW for the Bike DC 20-mile ride this Sunday. The group will travel past the White House, across the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Bridge, down the George Washington Parkway, and will finish up at Walt Whitman Park (E and 20th Streets NW). Registration required. 7:30 a.m. 20 years and older $35, ages 13-19 years are $20, and 12 and younger are free.

MOVIE: Hit the Washington Psychotronic Film Society Fundraiser Dance Party Celebration Anniversary Show at The Passenger (1021 7th Street NW) this Sunday to help support this unusual and interesting film society, dance it up and bid on rare movie posters. 6-10 p.m. $10.

MUSIC: Celebrate Bob Dylan’s 70th birthday with Jammin Java’s (227 Maple Avenue East Vienna, VA) songwriters circle (Luke Brindley, Todd Wright, Anthony Fiacco, and Shane Hines), who will perform Dylan tributes. 7 p.m. $15.
