Traffic along the 2100 block of Massachusetts Avenue NW is currently being diverted as police investigate a suspicious package. A DCist tipster tells us that the package is located in or near the Embassy of India. A worker in one of the buildings near the embassy tells DCist that her building was asked to evacuate and employees were “told the suspicious package is near the Gandhi statue.” Pedestrians and drivers should avoid the area as the investigation unfolds.
