Because of high water levels after the last week of showers, Maryland Natural Resources Police are asking boaters and anglers to stay out of the the upper Potomac River this weekend. The upper Potomac continues to have hazardous water levels.

The areas of the Potomac to avoid span from Cumberland to Little Falls. Not only should you stay out of this area of the upper Potomac, you should also avoid all of the Potomac’s creeks and streams through at least Monday. The Maryland Natural Resources Police will update their advisory as necessary on Monday.

The high water levels have already closed parts of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal.

Perhaps this is just the first sign of the coming Rapture. Don’t worry, we’re here until at least 6 p.m., making bad judgment day jokes.
