Grub Street has created a monstrous ad impression-grabbing slideshow from hell about 50 State Dinners (Plus One) to try during a summer road trip. But that “plus one” isn’t D.C. Instead, the site prefers to inflate Californian egos with two options: one each from the northern and southern part of the state. The whole snub is even sillier when you consider the purpose of the slideshow: “When summer hits and the urge to skip town strikes, it’s especially tricky to shake the desire to seek out the most unique, interesting, and, yes, delicious, food around.” Washington, D.C. is one of the top tourist destinations in the U.S., so it would only make sense to have a selection for folks as they take in the museums and monuments.

But if you’re interested in seeing the site’s picks for Virginia and Maryland as you plan your vacation, we’ve pulled them out so you can skip around and save you all the clicking. The choice for Virginia is the restaurant of former NoVa Szechuan master Peter Chang, Peter Chang’s China Grill in Charlottesville. Be sure to call ahead, though — Chang is well-known for skipping town. As for Maryland, they’ve selected all of Tilghman Island, great for folks wanting to get their fill of seafood. (Also: their copy editor seems to have graduated from Georgetown, as Annapolis is misspelled. C’mon guys, it’s the state’s capital!)

Since Grub Street snubbed us, we want to know: what would you pick as D.C.’s unique and interesting food attraction?
