Capital Bikeshare just had a rider take the system’s 500,000th ride. Congratulations are in order, though bikesharing in Washington and the United States still has a long way to go. To wit: the Washington Area Bicyclist Association pointed us to the above video posted by Streetsblog on the bike share system in Hangzhou, China, which features 50,000 bikes, 2,050 densely packed stations and a customer base which “on an average day…make 240,000 trips.”
Something to aim for, I guess.
