Brian Wilson plays tonight at Wolf Trap.

MONDAY

Outdoor concert season kicks into full swing, as former Beach Boy Brian Wilson begins a packed week at Wolf Trap. While there’s likely to be some nostalgia trips in store tonight, the concert preview on the Wolf Trap website seems to be highlighting some of Wilson’s newer work: 2004’s long-awaited Smile and last year’s Brian Wilson Reimagines Gershwin. $42 seats / $25 lawn, 8 p.m.

Iota: Sam Bradley, Holly Conlan. $14, 8:30 p.m.

TUESDAY

Precocious Norwegian Sondre Lerche was charming college radio DJs with his smooth voice and jazz-inspired pop before he became a legal adult. Now that he’s grown up a bit, his music has, too. He still loves to mix his jazz and pop, but there are elements of psychedelia and folk in his new material as well. He’ll be headlining a show at the 9:30 Club with Nightlands and Kishi Bashi opening. $15, 7 p.m.

U Street Music Hall: Wale, Board Administration and Rocksmith Tokyo present Black Cobain: Young Gifted & Black mixtape release concert. $20 advance / $30 mixtape + ticket / $50 VIP, 9 p.m.

Velvet Lounge: The Caribbean, All Tiny Creatures, Shedding. $8, 9 p.m.

WEDNESDAY

While it may seem like the high-pitched glam pop act Scissor Sisters are perpetually on the 9:30 Club schedule, they’ve had to cancel as often as they’ve been able to overwhelm and spread the glitter. They’re making up for their absence in March and playing with Sammy Jo on Wednesday. $40, 7 p.m.

Black Cat: Dengue Fever, The Eternals. $15 advance / $17 at the door, 8 p.m.

THURSDAY

Mumford & Sons‘ indie folk rock-meets-Dave Matthews Band radio staple shtick has worked quite well for them: they’ve blown up within the past year, having gone from selling out the 9:30 Club to selling out the Merriweather Post Pavilion. Sarah Sherman encapsulated in her review of last year’s 9:30 show why this has occurred: “Mumford and his fellows are charmers, and they spread their feverish energy to every corner of the club.” Consult Craigslist. Sold out. 6 p.m.

Black Cat: The Moderate, Laughing Man, Shark Week. $8, 8:30 p.m.

Iota: Dustin O’Halloran. $15, 9 p.m.

Birchmere: Eric Benet. $59.50, 7:30 p.m.

FRIDAY

Thao & Mirah are two fantastic solo artists in their own right who have toured together before, playing each other’s songs. This collaboration has led to both new material and a new partnership in social action and responsibility. $1 from each ticket to their Black Cat show will benefit abuse prevention programs here in D.C. Bobby and Led to Sea open. $19, 9 p.m.

Birchmere: Bob Mould, Olivia Mancini. $25, 7:30 p.m.

Velvet Lounge: Radian, Blue Sausage Infant, Washerwoman. $8, 10 p.m.

Wolf Trap: The Go-Gos, The Dollyrots. $42 seats / $25 lawn, 8 p.m.

Rock and Roll Hotel: Cults, Guards, Writer. $12 in advance / $14 day of show, 9 p.m.

Red Palace: Other Lives, Deleted Scenes. $8 in advance / $10 day of show, 10 p.m.

SATURDAY

It’s a singer-songwriter triple bill at Wolf Trap. Bright Eyes will be on hand to deliver their precocious songwriting and accompanying throat-ripping vocals, M. Ward will give us the spare (and remind us that he has material outside of his work with Zooey Deschanel) and Dawes will channel the expansive North California landscapes with pretty fingerpicking. $32 seats / $28 lawn, 7 p.m.

Rock and Roll Hotel: Bio Ritmo, Ikebe Shakedown, Cheick Hamala. $10 in advance / $12 day of show, 9:30 p.m.

Red Palace: The Postelles, The Dig, Ambassadors. $10 in advance / $12 day of show, 9:30 p.m.

Lamont Park: Midnight Hike, Redline Addiction, Rene Moffatt, Girl Band, The Jones, DJ Wanako, DJ A-Frame, Rock Art by Cherif, The Nunchucks. 2:30 p.m.

SUNDAY

When we last saw San Fransiscans The Dodos, they’d expanded their spare acoustic sound to include a vibraphone and, for whatever reason, rave lights. Well, they’ve scaled back to a two-piece again for their new album, No Color (which includes some back up vocals from Neko Case), but have also moved to a larger space. They’ll be playing with Gauntlet Hair at the 9:30 Club. $18, 7 p.m.

Black Cat: Heavy Cream, The Electrocutions. $10, 9 p.m.

DC9: Lenka, Elizabeth and the Catapult. $12 in advance / $14 day of show, 9 p.m.

Comet Ping Pong: Pujol, Exactly. $8, 9:30 p.m.

Wolf Trap: Indigo Girls, The Shadowboxers. $42 seats / $25 lawn. 8 p.m.
