Good morning, Washington. Now here’s a list we’re happy the District didn’t make: Bloomberg ranks the thirty most expensive cities in the world. >> Capital Pride festivities continue today, with the Capital Pride Festival — Pennsylvania Avenue between 3rd and 7th Streets NW will be closed for a good portion of the day, so be sure to factor that in if you usually drive or bike in the area.
>> Two Metropolitan Police Department officers were injured yesterday afternoon after possibly being beaten with a pipe on the 500 block of 5th Street NW. The officers were reportedly attempting to collar a suspect when they both suffered non-life threatening injuries.
>> Maryland’s thinking about criminalizing bath salts, possibly “the next big drug menace.” Virginia’s already banned the salts, which apparently contain a chemical that causes users to experience “hallucinations, paranoia, a rapid heart rate and suicidal thoughts.”
