MUSIC: The Decemberists perform their unique narrative songs at Merriweather Post Pavilion (10475 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia) tonight with Best Coast, who’ll bring the surfer rock. 6 p.m. $40 pavilion, $30 lawn.

MOVIE: The Crystal Screen‘s (1850 Bell Street, Arlington) “By The Numbers” outdoor movie series continues tonight with Four Weddings and a Funeral, starring Hugh Grant. The movie starts after sunset. Free.

CHARITY: Help residents of Joplin, Missouri who were victims of the tornadoes in May at the “Show Me” Support For Joplin: A Red Tie Affair at The Columbus Club in Union Station (50 Massachusetts Avenue NE) tonight. There will be a Southern cooking showdown, live music and a red theme. 6-9 p.m. $75 general admission, $125 VIP (includes t-shirt, raffle and drinks).

Still, probably a good idea to get tickets now!] Brew at the Zoo brings 30 microbreweries and live music from ’90s cover band White Ford Bronco, to the National Zoo (3001 Connecticut Avenue NW). Tickets: $65 general or $100 VIP.

WEDNESDAY: Wicked, The Wizard of Oz from the Wicked Witch of the West’s point of view, begins its run, which goes through August 21st, at the Kennedy Center (2700 F Street NW). 7:30 p.m. $37-$250.

THURSDAY: Summer Camp: SAUCERIFEROUS!, the Hirshhorn’s (Independence Avenue and 7th Street SW) 1950s alien movie series, kicks off Thursday with a screening of the 1951 version of The Day the Earth Stood Still. 7-9 p.m. Free.

FRIDAY: The Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ Festival this weekend at the National Harbor is sold out, but there are still tickets left for the “Whole Hog Friday Night Pig Pickin,'” which includes a pulled pork dinner, all-you-care-to-taste (also known as all-you-can-drink) bourbon and beer, and bacon tastings. Tickets: $65, or $45 for designated drivers. 6-10 p.m.
