FRIDAY

COMEDY: Chris Hardwick, who you might recognize from MTV’s “Singled Out” or more recently on Comedy Central’s “Web Soup,” hits the stage Friday and Saturday at the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse (2903 Columbia Pike, Arlington). 9 p.m. $25.

FOOD & DRINK: The Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ Festival this weekend at National Harbor is sold out for Saturday, but there are still tickets left for the “Whole Hog Friday Night Pig Pickin’,” which includes a pulled pork dinner, all-you-care-to-taste (also known as all-you-can-drink) bourbon and beer, and bacon tastings. Tickets available at the door. $65, or $45 for designated drivers. 6-10 p.m.

JAZZ: Guitarist John Lee performs tonight with guest saxophonist Matt Rippetoe at Jazz in the Garden in the National Gallery of Art’s Sculpture Garden (700 Constitution Avenue NW). 5-8:30 p.m. Free.

MOVIE: Heavy Metal Parking Lot, which some have called “the greatest rock and roll documentary of all time,” is celebrating its 25th anniversary and plays tonight at the AFI Silver Theatre (8633 Colesville Road

PARTY: Toss out your Trapper Keeper, kiss your teacher goodbye and head to 826DC’s first annual School’s Out for Summer (ALMOST) Party at The Pug (1234 H Street NE). 8-10 p.m. A $10 donation helps kids develop their writing skills, and gets you drink specials at the event.

ART: Super Art Fight, “The Greatest Live Art Competition In the Known Universe,” returns to the Red Palace (1212 H Street NE) with 3 rounds of pro-wrestling style creative competition. Burlesque acts go on between rounds. Doors open at 9 p.m. and the show starts at 10 p.m. $15.

FITNESS: Grab the kids and the bikes for Kidical Mass DC, a family bike ride and pool party. The ride starts at the Turkey Thicket Recreation Center, stops at the Mt. Rainier Bike Co-op, and ends at the Prince George’s Pool. 10:30 a.m. $4 for pool admission.

MUSIC: ’80s band The Feelies play the 9:30 Club (815 V Street NW) Saturday. 8 p.m. $20.

FITNESS: Celebrate Father’s Day and help fund research to fight prostate cancer at the Dash for Dad four-mile race, which beginning at Pentagon Row (1101 S Joyce Street, Arlington). To make it more fun, there will be a tie-tying competition at the one mile mark, prizes for dad/kid teams, and an after party at Champps. 8:30 a.m. $35 if you register by the end of the day today, or $40 the day of.

PARTY: The Argonaut (1433 H Street NE) has risen from the ashes of a fire one year ago, and celebrates this Sunday with Phoenix Fest. The event will help raise money for the DC Fire Fighters Burn Foundation. Brunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a moonbounce, corn hole tournament, live music, raffles, food and drink specials, and more from 1 p.m. on.

FOOD & DRINK: Chef Tony Chittum, of Vermilion, pairs up with the Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food & Agriculture this Sunday to present a four-course Farm Dinner featuring ingredients from local sources. Outside at Woodlawn Estate (9000 Richmond Highway, Alexandria). 4-9 p.m. $150.

MUSIC: Alela Diane, who hails from Portland, brings alt-country to Iota (2832 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington) on Sunday. The Parson Red Heads also perform. 8:30 p.m. $12.
