FOOD & DRINK: Buddha-Bar (455 Massachusetts Avenue NW) is throwing a Summer Lovin’ Patio Party tonight, featuring cocktails and happy hour specials paired with complimentary spring rolls and edamame. To attend, make a reservation by emailing events@buddhabardc.com.

>> Beginning tonight and continuing through June 26th, discover Swedish food at Masa 14 (1825 14th Street NW) during Nordic Food Days. Other participating restaurants include DC Coast (featuring food from Norway), Birch & Barley (showcasing Denmark), Vidalia (Iceland), and Marcel’s (Finland). At Masa 14, dishes created by Swedish Chef Tommy Myllymäki — including Halibut Tartar with Oysters served with yogurt snow, Stone Fried Saddle of Lamb with emulsified butter and lingonberries, and Tempered Strawberries with Sour Cream Sorbet — will be available for $7 to $13 each, or three dishes from the featured menu can be had for $30.

MUSIC: Aretha Franklin, vocal powerhouse and soul diva, performs at Wolf Trap (1645 Trap Road, Vienna VA) tonight with Vance Gilbert. 8 p.m. $25-$45.

MOVIE: You’ll leave the WPFS screening of The Stuff, an 1985 film about mysterious white goo marketed as a dessert, either yearning for a cupcake or fearing one. (Or perhaps both.) The Passenger (1021 7th Street NW), 8 p.m. $2 donation suggested.
