I kid, I kid — it really is nice to see the Nationals getting so excited about anything, especially considering that their recent hot streak (nine wins in their last ten games) has unfortunately coincided with a similar streak by the team they are chasing in the standings. But, hey, that’s no reason not to celebrate:
“We’re jumping up like we’re 5 years old and won a T-ball game are about to get a snow cone after,” Collin Balester said. “It’s fun. It shows you what this game is about.”
True, Wilson Ramos — who only hits a dinger every 40 plate appearances — crushing the ball out of the ballpark to cap a wild comeback is certainly an occasion worth celebrating. But a Gatorade bath? Maybe the Nats should’ve saved that one for the day they actually make it over .500.
