Photo by K’s Clicks. It’s Friday! Of course, this means that it’s once again time to remind you of where you’ll be spending some time single-tracking around the Metro system this weekend. You’ll want to build in a little extra time between the following stations starting around 9 p.m. this evening:
>> Red Line: Grosvenor-Strathmore and Twinbrook
>> Red Line: Takoma and Forest Glen
>> Blue/Orange Lines: Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory
>> Yellow Line: Pentagon City and L’Enfant Plaza
Also: be sure to take note of some minor bus detours due to the D.C. Caribbean Parade and the National Barbecue Battle.
Finally, for those of you who might be making plans for Independence Day, WMATA has released details on how service will operate on the holiday, including a pause on track work, rush hour service for most of the day on July 4, and the closure of the Smithsonian station. We’ll be sure to remind you about service changes closer to the holiday, but long-term planners might like to go ahead and think about how they’re getting around sooner instead of later.
