The Fourth of July is right around the corner. And you know what that means. That’s right — a whole evening of people setting off fireworks at all hours, leading some to believe that their apartments are being overtaken by guerrilla forces. (Oh, and look at that — it falls on a Monday this year! How nice.)

And where will all those hooligans be getting their fireworks? Wards 4, 5, 7 and 8, if they’re doing so legally.

The District’s Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs has announced where people will be able to buy the fireworks which will keep you awake all night for their Independence-related celebrations this week, and a whopping proportion of those that have earned a firework permit and passed the FEMS Fire Prevention Division/Fire Marshal inspection required to sell ’em — 95 percent — are in those wards I mentioned above. (What, nary a single fireworks vendor in Georgetown or along H Street NE?) The complete list is below.

And look, whatever you do, just don’t try setting them off indoors, okay?
