THEATER: The Capital Fringe Festival kicks off tonight and runs through July 24. ART: Tonight’s Phillips After 5 event at the Phillips Collection (600 21st Street NW) will feature beer and cookie pairing by Carla Hall from 5-8:15 p.m. and a gallery talk on “Kandinsky’s Experimental Process” from 6-7 p.m. Tickets: $12.
>> Create a masterpiece at ArtJamz Columbia Heights Sessions (The Dunes, 1402 Meridian Place NW) tonight, tomorrow and Saturday. Price of admission includes a canvas, acrylic paints, art materials and hors d’oeuvres. There will also be an onsite bar. 6:30-10 p.m. $48.
MOVIE: Whether you love Mark Zuckerberg or hate him (and his little dog too!), the movie about Facebook’s rise to power is darn entertaining. See The Social Network tonight at the Capitol Riverfront (100 Tingey Street SE) outdoor film series. 8:45 p.m. Free.
MUSIC: The Blackberry Belles, Cane & The Sticks and Wild Fruit take the stage at Fort Reno (3800 Donaldson Place NW). 7:15 p.m. Free.
