The District hot spot earned second place on Billboard’s list of most influential clubs, compiled by a group of talent agents. The magazine used box-office data to put together their “hottest’ list,” where the 9:30 Club also secured the second spot. It was the only club to make both lists.
Billboard asked Patterson Hood of the Drive-By Truckers to list the attributes of a great club, which he said has “a good room, good vibe, great sound, sightlines…and a general vibe or aura that is intangible — but you know it when you are within it.”
First place for most influential went to the Bowery Ballroom, while the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas topped the hottest list.
