MONDAY

The Fort Reno season kicks into high gear with the propulsive, hooky indie-rock of Title Tracks, the charming lo-fi stylings of America Hearts, and the precocious pre-teen garage-rock of Cat Jack. Free. 7:15 p.m.

TUESDAY

In the summer of 2010, singer Eleanor Friedberger took a break from The Fiery Furnaces to record her solo debut, Last Summer, a collection of warm, well-crafted tracks that evokes a more straightforward and stripped-down version of the 1970s retro vibe of her main band’s recent albums. Friedberger will be in town when the album drops on Tuesday, showcasing her robust vocals and artful pop songcraft at the Black Cat Backstage, with Romania and The Jaabs opening. $10. 8:30 p.m.

>> Patriot Center: Soundgarden, The Mars Volta. $59.50. 6:30 p.m.

>> 9:30 Club: 6th Annual J Dilla Tribute & Fundraiser and The Pharcyde. $20. 8:30 p.m.

WEDNESDAY

Back when he recorded and performed as Smog, Silver Spring-born Bill Callahan honed a distinctive, idiosyncratic aesthetic that incorporated elements of indie-rock, folk, Krautrock and John Fahey-esque Americana, all spiked with dark humor and oft-melancholic introspection. A few classics from that era — hopefully including the hauntingly magnificent “Bathysphere” — should be on the set list at the Rock and Roll Hotel on Wednesday night, along with songs from Callahan’s latest LP, Apocalypse. Eccentric singer-songwriter Ed Askew opens. $15. 8:30 p.m.

>> 9:30 Club: Interpol, School of Seven Bells. Sold out. 7 p.m.

>> Black Cat: Darwin Deez, Caged Animals. $13. 8 p.m.

THURSDAY

Although they enjoyed an indelible moment in the pop-cultural sun when Quentin Tarantino featured their cover of Neil Diamond’s “Girl, You’ll Be a Woman Soon” in his 1994 film, Pulp Fiction, Chicago’s Urge Overkill never quite delivered on the commercial promise of their arena-ready fusion of punk and power pop. After more than a decade of relative inactivity, founding members Nash Kato and Eddie “King” Roeser are back for another go at it, releasing their first new record in sixteen years and embarking on a tour that stops at the Rock and Roll Hotel on Thursday night. Dot Dash and The Jones complete the evening’s lineup. $15. 8 p.m.

>> Fort Reno: The Cornell West Theory, Sound Limit, Guilty. Free. 7:15 p.m.

>> 9:30 Club: Stephen Marley and Ghetto Youths Crew, Zedicus. $26. 7 p.m.
