>> As a part of the Hip-Hop Theater Festival, local artist Tabi Bonney performs at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage with Bajah + the Dry Eye Crew, Rujeko Dumbutshena and Maimouna Youssef. Free. 6 p.m.

>> The 6th Annual “DC Loves Dilla” show brings a big-name group from the 1990s to the 9:30 Club, along with several local acts to celebrate the life of producer/emcee J Dilla. The Pharcyde — a group J Dilla worked with — headline the show with Grap Luva, Jon Laine & The Players, Kaimbr, Alison Carney, J Hill, Awthentik, Gods’Illa, Talibah Safiya, Cynthia Hawkes, E Major, Wes Felton, Roddy Rod, Kenn Starr, J Sands, Maimouna Youssef and DTMD. $20. 8:30 p.m.

Friday:
>> Having spent the 1980s as part of an R&B power duo, and then as an accomplished solo act, Angela Winbush is a proven vocalist, writer and producer with hits such as “I’ll Be Good” and “Angel.” Winbush is in town at Blues Alley for two shows a night, Friday through Sunday. $43. 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.

>> Philly native and former Digable Planet’s DJ King Britt is slated for a set at U Street Music Hall‘s “Red Fridays”. Free before 11 p.m. / $10 after 11 p.m. Doors at 10 p.m.

Saturday:
>> Singer Regina Belle had been on the R&B scene for a while when her Grammy-winning duet performance of “A Whole New World” garnered her mainstream success. She’ll be performing at Fort Dupont Park (1900 Anacostia Drive SE). Free. 5 p.m.

>> Sulu DC celebrates its second hip-hop showcase with a focus on Asian American and Pacific Islander women. Scheduled to perform at U Street Music Hall are Rocky Rivera, Misnomer(S), Kickrocks Crew, The Pinstriped Rebel and Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai. $10 in advance / $15 at the door. 7:30 p.m.

>> As the Hip-Hop Theater Festival wraps up, DJs Jahsonic and Stylus provide the sonic backdrop at Tap and Parlour. Free. 9 p.m.

Sunday:
>> Indie MCs Vinnie Paz and Ill Bill came together to form Heavy Metal Kings. They’ll be at DC9 for the night. $15. 9 p.m.
