>> Arguably, D.C.’s most notable local soul legend is Marvin Gaye. Paying homage to him in a special production titled “Simply Marvin: Live @ The Sugar Shack” at the Warner Theatre will be Eric Roberson, Miri Ben-Ari, Levi Stephens and Tamara Wellons. Free. 7 p.m.
>> The Carter Barron Amphitheatre plays host to three female vocalists, including Grammy nominee Carolyn Malachi, Navasha Daya and Ayanna Gregory, as a part of a special “neo-soul” night.
