Several, apparently.

“This morning there were 8 cops and three police cruisers trying to shut down a hot dog/drinks stand right outside Federal Center SW,” writes a tipster who requested anonymity about the scene above, photographed this morning. “The stand has been there for as long as I can remember and I’ve even seen cops buy stuff there…not sure what the deal is, but they seemed to be engaged in some fairly heated discussion with the woman inside the stand.”

Well, whatever it was, the police don’t have any idea either; MPD tells DCist that the incident was nowhere to be found in their morning reports. One spokesperson we talked with said it was likely that the incident was just something the officers “walked up to.” Who knows — maybe they were just arguing about the price of their morning hot dog?
