First Potomac Realty Trust announced plans earlier this week to buy the Greyhound bus terminal in Northeast. The purchase of the raw 712,000 square feet property, to go for $46.75 million, is said to be one of the last major development sites to be bought up in the NoMa (North of Massachusetts) neighborhood.

Although the Greyhound bus station has stood in its current location since 1983, the company plans to move operations to a renewed bus deck inside of Union Station, decidedly a more accessible and convenient option for travelers. Greyhound will continue operating at the NE station until its final move into Union Station.

However, when the move happens, business will stay as usual. Much like all the other developments popping up in NoMa, the trust plans to slate the area primarily for new office buildings.
