>> Metropolitan Police arrested 74 people over the weekend during a 12-hour sting targeting men and women engaged in acts of prostitution as part of operation “Off the Streets.”

>> Police in Prince George’s County have identified the off-duty federal officer who shot and killed a man Friday while trying to intervene in a violent assault as Pentagon Force Protection Agency officer Alex Thomas.The suspect has been identified as Ronald Delonte Royal.

>> NBC Washington reports that a group of males and a juvenile female robbed a Frederick 7-Eleven store on 313 S. Jefferson Street early Saturday morning. One of the males hit the clerk and flashed a knife to scare him out of the store. After the clerk ran, surveillance video showed the group stealing cash and other items. The female was caught and released to juvenile services, but authorities are still looking for the other suspects. Anyone with information has been asked to call 301-600-TIPS.

>> On Friday, Allen Verter Jr., 31, of Southeast D.C., was charged with murder in the May 2010 killing of Dawan A. Felder, 28, of Clinton, who officers found lying in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. It’s the second arrest in the case. Darnell L. Hawkins, of Lanham, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in October.
