Photo by ekelly80.Rick Perry, the Texas Governor who recently celebrated his decision to run for the Republican presidential nomination by “deep-throating” a vegetarian corn dog, has placed the responsibility of accounting for his campaign finances in the hands of the individual who had been doing the same job for Stephen Colbert.
Politico reports that Salvatore Purpura resigned his job as treasurer of Colbert’s super political action committee, Americans for a Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow, on Thursday, citing a “potential conflict of interest.” Of course, Colbert helped caused a good stir up during a recent Iowa straw poll by using his PAC cash to pay for an advertisement which encouraged people to cast a write-in vote for “Rick Parry, with an A for America.”
Democracy in action, everyone!
