TRIVIA: Spend happy hour at the National Portrait Gallery’s Kogod Courtyard (750 9th Street NW) Wednesday to play some art trivia. This month’s trivia theme is invention and innovation in the U.S. Food and drink will be available for purchase and DJ Mark Maskell will be providing the beats. FOOD & DRINK: Ripple (3417 Connecticut Avenue NW) celebrates La Tomatina, an annual tomato festival in Spain, with a five-course tomato-centric meal, tomato fight (performed by artists, sadly no audience participation allowed), and a screening of the 1978 film Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. Dinner is $65 per person, with the option to add a beverage pairing for $30. Beverages will include wine, a tomato cocktail and tomato beer from Short’s Brewing Company.
