The Trawick Prize: Bethesda Contemporary Art Awards announced the winners of this year’s juried prize last week. Congratulations are in order for Mia Feuer of Washington, whose sculptures were awarded “Best in Show”. Feuer also takes home $10,000. Caryl Burtner from Richmond was awarded second place and given $2,000; Ryan Browning from Frederick, MD placed third and received $1,000 and the “Young Artist” award of $1,000 was given to Lu Zhang of Baltimore.

The Trawick Prize was established in 2003 by Carol Trawick, a long-time community activist in downtown Bethesda. To date, The Trawick Prize has awarded over $126,000 in prize monies and has exhibited the work of over 100 regional artists.
