Both “A Concert to Honor” — a Friday night event featuring Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, the Marine Chamber Orchestra and the United States Navy Band Sea Chanters — and “A Concert for Hope” — the Sunday night remembrance featuring remarks from Obama, and several high-profile musical performances — will take place in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. Saturday’s “A Concert to Heal” and Community Gathering Day has been postponed; Sunday’s Interfaith Vigil has also been moved to the Washington Hebrew Congregation in Cleveland Park.
“The safety of our visitors and the staff of the Cathedral is our top priority, and we will make no compromises when it comes to that responsibility,” Cathedral Dean Samuel T. Lloyd III said in a statement.
