The Washington Examiner reports that a Nation’s Triathlon competitor died of a heart attack Sunday during the bicycle portion of the course.

The man was able to alert the race’s medical team that he needed assistance. He went into cardiac arrest shortly after and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital at around 9:00 am.
