Yesterday, NBC4 sent reporter extraordinaire Pat Collins to cover the story of “Banana Man,” otherwise known as Stafford County high school student Bryan Thompson. Thompson was suspended for ten days after he ran on to the field in a banana suit during a Colonial Forge High School football game. Collins decided the best way to present the story would be to show solidarity and interview Thompson while wearing a grape suit.

Today, the day after Collins’ piece aired, Thompson’s suspension was cut short.

Coincidence? I think not.
