He’s back. Former Mayor Adrian Fenty is hosting a fundraiser on Oct. 6 for D.C. Councilmember Jack Evans, who has served on the council since 1991. The Washington Post reports that the event will be held at Fenty’s law firm, Klores Perry Mitchell.

Evans was a reliable Fenty supporter on the D.C. Council — a shift from 2006 when Fenty successfully ran against then-Council Chairman Linda W. Cropp, whom Evans supported. When speaking about Fenty that year, Evans said, “I don’t think he’s a serious person.”

Four years later, Evans sang a very different tune. During last year’s mayoral race, which Fenty lost to Mayor Vince Gray, Fenty unveiled three 15-second testimonials, and included one from Evans, in which he said Fenty “can work with others and get results in really moving our city forward.”

When discussing the planned fundraiser with the Post, Evans said, “It’s great. I’ve always been a big supporter of his and he of mine.
