In the age of post-processing apps and filters, making photos look like surreal paintings can be a little too facile. Point. Click. Upload. But it’s something special when you can find a shot, on a photo walk no less, that looks like it was as easily made with brushstrokes rather than a DSLR. But an otherwise drab scene is enhanced with several small elements of asymmetry. The uncoiled garden hose and flower pot on one side, the door light and house number on the other.
