CLASS: Tonight, take a seasonally appropriate class and learn “The Origin of German Beer Styles” at Beer School with Rachel Murray at Bourbon’s Glover Park location (2348 Wisconsin Ave NW). Sessions run from 6-7 p.m. and 8-9 p.m. $25 ticket price includes five-ounce pours of 6 beers.

MUSIC: Canadian folk rock trio the Good Lovelies perform on the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage (2700 F Street NW). 6 p.m. Free.

WEDNESDAY: Dino (3435 Connecticut Avenue NW) serves up 10 dishes for their “Dinner with the Duck” extravaganza. The menu includes duck breast crostini, duck wings, house duck prosciutto, duck baci, duck confit salad, duck soup, duck cannelloni, duck risotto with giblets, fruit stewed duck, and pulling up the rear, duck butt with spiced gelato. >> The “October Spooktacular” Japanese horror movie series from the Japan Information and Culture Center (1150 18th Street NW) begins Wednesday with a screening of Ringu, the scary inspiration for the U.S. movie The Ring. 6:30 p.m. Free, but RSVP required.

THURSDAY: Restaurant 3 (2950 Clarendon Boulevard, Arlington) kicks off their Week ‘O’ Bacon at 5 p.m. on Thursday with a pig roast ($5 pork sandwiches). Through Saturday, October 22nd, there will be numerous special bacon options, including bacon cocktails, a bacon curing class on October 16th, and a three-course bacon tasting menu.

FRIDAY: Landless Theatre Co. presents Evil Dead: The Musical, complete with a splash zone, this Friday, October 14th through October 30th at FCAC (15 W. Patrick Street, Frederick, MD).

>> Chef Eddie Huang of Baohaus serves up food for a popup event at Toki Underground (1234 H Street NE) this Friday (7 p.m.) and Saturday (5 p.m.).

SATURDAY: Hit Taste of Georgetown (Wisconsin Avenue and M Street NW) this Saturday for lots of food, live music, and a “Pumpkin Food Fight” where chefs compete to prepare the best pumpkin dish. 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Food tickets are $5 for one tasting, $20 for five. Drink tickets are $3 for 1 tasting and $10 for 4.

>> Rustico’s Alexandria location (827 Slaters Lane, Alexandria) is the site of their Oktoberfest block party this Saturday. Come out for over 50 types of beer on draft, pretzels and other German food, and activities for all ages. 12-5 p.m. Free to attend, tickets for food and drink on-site.
