A D.C. man was taken into police custody this morning after he reportedly locked himself in his K Street apartment and ran the water in an attempt to flood his entire building. The incident caused a barricade situation along the 400 block of K Street NW, and WUSA9 reports that police described the man as a “mental health consumer.” The man was apparently successful to a point — the news station states that residents below the man said that water was seeping into their apartments.

Police are still investigating the apartment building; no injuries have been reported.
