>> A vigil was held Friday in Gaithersburg, Maryland to remember 11-year-old William McQuain and his mother Jane McQuain. Jane was found murdered in the family’s Germantown home. After days of intense searching, William was discovered dead in a wooded area in Clarksburg.

>> The former Montgomery County first-grade teacher who was accused of punching and choking her students was acquitted of all misdemeanor assault charges Friday. However, Susan Lee Burke, 36, has been indicted on two felony counts of second-degree child abuse stemming from the investigation.

>> The Washington Post profiles Detective Jim Drewry, of Montgomery County’s Homicide Unit. Drewry has been involved in a number of high-profile cases including the Lululemon murder, Beltway sniper John Allen Muhammad and the fatal stabbing of artist Azin Naimi.

>> Felicia Dianne Jones, 30, was arrested by MPD officers in connection with the fatal stabbing in SE of Jodie Ward, 30. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

>> D.C. police sergeant Christopher Whitehouse, of Beltsville, was sentenced to four years in prison for threatening a female friend with a handgun while he was off duty. This wasn’t his first conviction.

>> Former DC employee Thomas Nelson, 55, has been sentenced to more than two years prison in for making sexual advances toward a 17-year-old girl working with him in DC’s Summer Youth Employment Program. When he gets out, Nelson will be placed on three years of supervised release and will have to register as a sex offender for 10 years.

>> Former MPD officer Reginald Levester Jones, 42, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for charges stemming from a robbery that led to murder. “Instead of locking up robbers and murderers, Reginald Jones decided to become one of them,” said U.S. Attorney Ronald Machen. “His disgraceful conduct is an affront to the dedicated professionals at the Metropolitan Police Department who sacrifice to keep us safe every day. With today’s sentence, Reginald Jones will replace the police uniform he dishonored with a prison jumpsuit.”

>> Arlington resident Rodney M. Gunsauley, 61, has been arrested in connection with an FBI raid in Cherrydale as well as with the discovery of buried weapons near I-66. He’s charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

>> Bob Cory McNeely, 40, of Alexandria, was shot to death Thursday in the city’s first homicide this year.

>> A mental hospital patient is accused of murdering his roommate. Twenty-four year old Vitaly Davydov, who beat his psychiatrist, Doctor Wayne Fenton, to death in Rockville five years ago, is charged with first and second degree murder after guards found his roommate, 22-year-old David Rico-Noyola, on the floor of their room suffering from trauma and bleeding from his head.

>> A 34-year old man assaulted students in their room at George Washington University Friday after piggybacking into the West End dorm. The students fought back and called 911 when the man fled into the hallway.

>> There was a fatal shooting on Georgia Avenue and W St. near Howard University Saturday night. The victim was driven to the hospital and later pronounced dead. The suspects are described as three black males wearing dark clothes.

>> Marc D. Hicks, 42, of Oxon Hill, was arrested for striking a pedestrian in a fatal hit-and-run this September. Hicks is being held at the Arlington County Detention Center. Police are asking anyone with additional information about the collision to call Detective Paul Marseilles at (703) 228-4237.

>> A taxi cab driver was shot and killed Saturday morning near Anacostia Avenue and Ponds Street. Police said the suspect is a slim, black male who was wearing a blue jacket and blue jeans.
