>> She’s the daughter of former Howard student-turned-soul icon, Donny Hathaway. Soul songstress Lalah Hathaway has carved her own distinct path, one that includes her recently released album, Where It All Begins. She’ll be at the Birchmere. $59.50. 7:30 p.m.

Thursday:
>> Oakland native Goapele‘s new album, Break of Dawn, hits stores this week. The “Closer” singer will be at the Birchmere. $29.50. 7:30 p.m.

Friday:
>> Halloween weekend is upon us and one of the celebrations involves Questlove, of The Roots fame, DJing at the Newseum as a part of BYT’s “Night at the Museum IV in 3D.” $25 in advance / $30 at the door. 9 p.m.

Saturday:
>> Swedish electronic band Little Dragon has made waves for the past few years, in part due to vocalist Yukimi Nagano. Now stateside in support of their latest release, Ritual Union, they’ll be doing an early show at the 9:30 Club with opening act Small Black. $20. 7 p.m.

>> When Chromeo came through town back in February, we spoke to group member P-Thugg. This time around, their tour takes them to the Fillmore, where they’ll be joined by singer Mayer Hawthorne. $25-$30. 8 p.m.

Sunday:
>> At one time, Dâm-Funk was a session player for a number of “G-Funk”-era rappers. Now, he’s a stand-out artist firmly rooted in the synth-boogie music sound of the early to mid-1980s. He’ll be performing his material at the Rock and Roll Hotel as a part of Master Blazter (consisting of Dâm, Computer Jay and J1) — DCist linked up with him for an interview that’ll run later this week, so keep an eye out. $15 in advance / $18 at the door. 8 p.m.
