Photo by Shaun Barrows.Halloween weekend is coming up, and if you’re anything like me, you probably still have no earthly idea what to wear for a costume. But at least you won’t have to worry about having a pocket free to carry cash for a ride home. The SoberRide program, which provides free taxi rides to people around various holidays, will be back in place this weekend.
Sponsored by the Washington Regional Alcohol Program and AT&T, the program will comp cab fares of up to $30 for anyone 21 and over between 10 p.m. on Saturday, October 29 and 6 a.m. on Sunday, October 30. The cabs will be dispatched to those who dial 800-200-TAXI. In a new wrinkle, those with AT&T service can simply dial #TAXI to connect to the free taxi dispatcher — or, you know, just tell Siri to do it.
